High-grade assays over very wide intersections confirm Earl Grey is a major lithium discovery

6th September 2016

  • First hole drilled by Kidman at its Earl Grey lithium discovery in WA returns 93m at 1.53% Li2O (KEGR001)
  • Five subsequent holes have each intersected pegmatite over total widths ranging from 60m to 93m; these intersections start from a depth of 41.9m; assays pending
  • Earl Grey spodumene mineralised pegmatite now outlined over 700m down dip extent and 400m along strike with an estimated average true width of ~80m
  • Earl Grey pegmatite remains open along strike and both up and down dip
  • Drilling continuing around the clock, moving up-dip on 100m line spacing’s towards the outcropping pegmatite 1.5km south of KEGR001
  • Latest results show interval grades of up to 3.28% Li2O, this follows assays of up to 2.5% Li2O from five historical drill holes
  • Kidman is now targeting a maiden lithium resource estimate in the December quarter, 2016
  • Earl Grey pegmatite sits on a granted Mining Lease and is just one of several known pegmatites within the project area

Kidman Resources Limited (“Kidman”) (ASX: KDR) is pleased to advise that fresh drilling results have confirmed that its Earl Grey lithium deposit near Southern Cross in WA is a major discovery of significant size showing high-grade mineralisation. Click here to View…

Thickness of Earl Grey Pegmatite Doubled to ~100m by First Drill Holes Highlights

25th August 2016

  • First two holes drilled by Kidman at the high-grade Earl Grey lithium project have doubled its known pegmatite thickness to ~100m
  • Abundant coarse and fine grained spodumene observed in core from the first two diamond drill holes
  • Drilling up-dip of historical holes has extended the pegmatite by a further 200m, intersecting a continuous pegmatite zone of 70m thickness within an overall 100m thick zone
  • Two rigs are now drilling at Earl Grey, targeting a maiden resource in December quarter 2016
  • Approvals submitted to drill additional holes up-dip
  • First assays expected in early September

Kidman Resources (ASX: KDR) is pleased to advise that the first two holes of its drilling program at the high-grade Earl Grey lithium-bearing pegmatite within the Mt Holland project have returned highly encouraging results, upgrading our prior understanding of the potential scale of the Earl Grey Lithium Project. Mt Holland emerges as significant Lithium discovery

15th July 2016

RC drill holes into the Earl Grey pegmatite return exceptional grades over very broad zones up to 50m true width with all holes ending in mineralisation

  • Spectacular first assays from the shallow Earl Grey pegmatite at the Mt Holland gold-lithium project near Southern Cross in WA
  • Results from the five holes submitted for assay include:
  • 52m @ 1.53% Li2O from 206m to end of hole
  • 45m @ 1.81% Li2O from 231m to end of hole, including 7m @ 2.23% Li2O from 255m and 5m @ 2.5% Li2O from 268m downhole
  • 39m @ 1.93% Li2O from 189m to end of hole including 12m @ 2.46% from 215m downhole
  • 11m @ 1.04% Li2O from 126m downhole and 27m @ 1.73% Li2O from 153m to end of hole including 9m @ 2.45% Li2O from 168m downhole
  • 34m @ 1.35% Li2O from 176m downhole and 29m @ 1.31% Li2O% including 6m @ 2.09% Li2O from 218m downhole,
  • All drillholes were terminated in Lithium mineralisation as they were originally drilled targeting gold
  • Follow-up RC drilling being planned; thickness of the Earl Grey pegmatite is still unknown; however the existing drill holes confirm a minimum true width of 50m.
  • Follow-up drill holes will target up-dip mineralisation towards surface and laterally; the mineralised zone is open in every direction
  • Mineralised zone dips around 20-25 degrees, ideal for open cut mining at a lower strip ratio; Earl Grey located on granted Mining Lease
  • Earl Grey pegmatite is located along strike within the same ultramafic unit as the Prince of Wales and Texas pegmatites which are yet to be tested for lithium but are confirmed by drilling to be 2.2km long and 6.3km long respectively (Refer Figures 3)

Kidman Resources (ASX: KDR) is pleased to advise that it has discovered a second high-grade lithium-bearing pegmatite at its Mt Holland gold project near Southern Cross in WA.

Assays from the Earl Grey pegmatite have returned sample grades of up to 3.94 per cent lithium (Li2O) and highly-mineralised intersections over widths of up to 52m. All holes have ended in mineralisation. Other strategic metals such as Tantalum (up to 255ppm Ta2O5), Caesium (up to 0.162% Cs2O) and Niobium (up to 359ppm Nb2O5) all show enrichment in zones within the Earl Grey Pegmatite.
